The Insurance Trust was established approximately 40 years ago for the benefit of the Landscape contractors who had an interest in the insurance programs.

In 1999 the Fourth Amended Trust Document was approved which allowed the Trustees to convert the trust to Golden Oak cooperative corporation, which officially began operations on January 1, 2000.

Those employer members of CLCA who purchase liability, Auto and/or Workers Compensation through one of the endorsed programs of Golden Oak will be eligible to earn an equity position in the corporation after a five year vestment period. The equity is only redeemable upon retirement from the landscape industry.

In 1989 Landscape contractors insurance services (L.C.I.S.) Inc. was formed to provide the various insurance programs to the employer members of CLCA. L.C.I.S. is 100% owned by Golden Oak.
